CityFolk CD Available – The Music Always Wins
We have released our first CD, The Music Always Wins! This represents a culmination of a life of playing and performing music together and we’re thrilled with the results. The CD is an eclectic mix of original CityFolk compositions as well as some of our cover arrangements that span from contemporary folk to smooth jazz. Please contact us if you would like to purchase a copy.
We feel so blessed to have the great jazz fingerstylist and dear friend, Howard Morgen, play on three of the tracks. While Howard is no longer with us, he lives on in his music and remains in our hearts and will be always remembered for his humor and dedication to the guitar playing community! Check out the wealth of his material on YouTube, TrueFire, and www.howardmorgen.com.

Here is a video of a performance at one of our favorite venues, Sacred Grounds coffeehouse in Durham, where we perform an arrangement of the beautiful traditional song, Shenandoah.
Here is a video of another performance at the Sacred Grounds coffeehouse in Durham, where we perform an original composition, Old Lady Perry, which is based on a true story as told to us by Pete’s mom.
Here is a video of us performing Pete’s swing arrangement of Nora Jones tune Don’t Know Why at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville with guitar legends Ranger Doug (of Riders in the Sky) and Andy Reiss (of Time Jumpers) when we attended Steve Krenz’s 2016 Guitar Gathering.
UNC-TV filmed a special broadcast profiling Bynum, NC and its Front Porch Music Series on one of the Friday nights we performed there with Joanna on bass. This is an archived video of that broadcast. You’ll see us performing on the music stage throughout the video. The biggest segment occurs at the end where we are singing Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show. The Front Porch Music Series contains a wide variety of music acts of varying styles every Friday through the summer that’s well worth your time to check out.
